This is the frosting I usually make for my no-egg chocolate cake.
Walnut Frosting
2 cups evaporated milk
2 cups sugar
6 egg yolks- slightly beaten
2 cubes butter- softened
dash salt
Heat over low heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon. Boil until it thickens and slightly changes color.Once it starts boiling, I usually stir approx. 10 more minutes. Remove from heat. Let cool slightly. Then stir in:
2 2/3 cups coconut flakes
2 cups chopped walnuts
2 tsp. vanilla
*This will be slightly runnier than regular frosting.
